There is not much there today...Just a lot of overpaid paper pushers and lackluster administrators. The teachers are weighted down with junk science, junk psychology, and antiquated teaching methods. Educators have been siphoned thru high cost low performance teachers colleges with four years of liberal politically correct academics and just a hint of betterment of their educational teaching ability.
Perhaps we should just recycle the ashes of this fallen bird and start over. Home schooling, charter schools, the voucher system all work and should be allowed to bloom. Most parents would step forward to cooperate in the education of their offspring just as they take care of the food, clothing and shelter in today's system. Over half of our state expenditure in my home state of Oklahoma goes into public education. With the shut down of that behemoth those vast amount of monies would be left with the taxpayers to provide alternative education for the dependent.
The solution is almost to simple for with thousands of dollars more per family available for education the free enterprise school industry would flourish. Those capable of addressing high performance teachers with or without certification would push excellence of learning to it's highest form in our country.
The norm would become perfection and those who chose not to pursue academics would find a plethora of free enterprise trade schools supported by grants and tuition paid industrial programs as the free enterprise system geared up to accommodate the high earning high performance work force.
As we move further into the computer age those of us who earn our daily living by the biblical sweat of our brow will prosper as never before. Computer programs will replace most of the paper shuffling jobs as each occupation is able to perform tasks once assigned to office personal with their own laptop. The carpenter, welder, roofer, rancher, farmer, mechanic, painter, educational practitioner, medical provider, driver, laborer will take their place again as respected pillars of vibrant communities.
